ICSB YOUTH

WELCOME TO ICSB Youth Group

For the Youth. By the Youth.

Islamic Center of South Bay is a home for the youth to come. The ICSB holds events for both boys and girls youth. The goal is to meet with their fellow brothers or sisters, make friends for the sake of Allah, and grow closer to Allah and his messenger. Both groups meet every Saturday between 6PM to 7:30PM to have fun with activities. The boys group has activities such as basketball, football, soccer, and many more activities. They often go for Fajr hikes on Sunday’s. The brothers meet up for Fajr prayer on Sunday’s and go to a nice sightseeing hike afterwards. They are engaged with local community members, and talk a bit about tafsir and hadith. The youth recently gathered up at ICSB to pray Fajr and then we all went to Knott’s Berry Farm.

They take more than just a game of basketball with them when going back. They take knowledge and partake in important Islamic discussions as well. Topics that have been discussed in the halaqat include stories of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the sahaba. Not only do we want the youth to have fun and learn, but also be connected and have a relationship with the masjid. They are active participants in our masjid activities and help out when needed whether it is for picnics, fundraisers, Ramadan events, etc. In Surah Al-Hujarat, there is a verse that is saying “the believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers.” The goal for the ICSB youth group is to have sustainability and build the connection with your brothers or sisters along with tarbiyah, all for the sake of Allah (SWT) alone.
