The Islamic Center of South Bay – LA (ICSB) invites applications for the position of Religious Direc­tor. ICSB is located in Lomita, California in south-western Los Angeles County. ICSB, a member of the Shura Council of Southern California, was founded in 1985 and serves a culturally diverse com­munity. The successful candidate will have sufficient Islamic education and training along with lead­ership and interpersonal skills to play a pivotal role in the community. He will endeavor to enlighten the minds and hearts of people with the message of Islam, have high ethical standards, will be com­mitted, enthusiastic, and open to diverse opinions in interpretation of religious edicts.

Responsibilities Include: Spiritual guidance; oversight of programs and educational activities, reli­gious and social services; Friday khutbahs; interfaith and outreach.

Required Qualifications: Sound education in fiqh and understanding of contemporary fiqh issues, uloomul Qur’an, tafsir, hadith, Qur’anic Arabic, Ijaza in Qur’anic recitation, fluent in English. Basic computer skills preferred. Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
